Mountains

You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know. Rene Daumal
I want to know the thoughts of God – the rest is just details – Albert Einstien
How great thou art!
For the strength of the hills

Brethren, shall we not go forward in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice and be exceeding glad. Let the earth break forth in singing...for the prisoners shall go free. Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud. And ye rivers, and brooks, and rills, flow down with gladness. Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy! And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy!

1. Firm as the mountains around us, Stalwart and brave we stand On the rock our fathers planted For us in this goodly land— The rock of honor and virtue, Of faith in the living God.
They raised his banner triumphant— Over the desert sod.
[Chorus] And we hear the desert singing: Carry on, carry on, carry on! Hills and vales and mountains ringing: Carry on, carry on, carry on! Holding aloft our colors, We march in the glorious dawn. O youth of the noble birthright, Carry on, carry on, carry on!
2. We’ll build on the rock they planted A palace to the King. Into its shining corridors, Our songs of praise we’ll bring, For the heritage they left us, Not of gold or of worldly wealth, But a blessing everlasting Of love and joy and health.

1. O ye mountains high, where the clear blue sky Arches over the vales of the free,
Where the pure breezes blow and the clear streamlets flow, How I’ve longed to your bosom to flee! O Zion! dear Zion! land of the free, Now my own mountain home, unto thee I have come;
All my fond hopes are centered in thee.
3. In thy mountain retreat, God will strengthen thy feet; Without fear of thy foes thou shalt tread;and their silver and gold, as the prophets have told, Shall be brought to adorn thy fair head. O Zion! dear Zion! home of the free, Soon thy towers shall shine with a splendor divine,
And eternal thy glory shall be.
