Sisters – this is exactly what Satan is doing to us. He is building illusions all around us – little tricks to make us believe somethings are true- which in reality, are false. He does it to you…to your children and to your spouses. He wants us to believe his magic tricks are real, so that we don’t pay attention to the misdirection going on right under our noses.What are his tricks? He builds the illusion that immodesty, immorality, purchasing anything you want regardless of your ability to pay for it, look like a wonderful dream for which there are no consequences. He builds an illusion that good is bad, and bad is good.He wants us to feel unsatisfied with what we have and are so that we will abandon the good that has been given us by our ancestors. He makes being a mother and wife appear to be a meaningless, boring, unfulfilling, drudgery for which no ‘real’ woman would ever waste her time. He gives the illusion that raising a family is an old fashioned, out-dated concept, while he makes alternative lifestyles, even bizarre lifestyles seem normal or exciting.And while he builds these illusions, he is misdirecting our attention to some dismall realities – that families are falling apart, that society is becoming divided over critical moral issues, that poverty levels increase, that teen pregnancy is at alarming levels, that children born to single mothers are growing. How does he build his illusions? Why are Satan’s illusions so convincing. The press, advertisers, television programming, and entertainment of all sorts cause us to ‘suspend disbelief.’ It gets us wondering – “is it possible, that you will be happier divorced? Is it possible that you would be happier, if I purchased all this stuff?” And while we are right at the point where we have suspended disbelief, or we have actually begun to believe it could be possible, he misdirects us so that he can pull off the trick. We can look around and see many women who have dumped their spouses and families, and appear to be much happier. We see women that we know don’t have means, out making extravagant purchases on clothing, cars, travel, who also appear to be much happier. It is all very convincing – if we want to believe. But it is all smoke and mirrors. It is NOT real. And it will come crashing down when the lights come on and the curtain is pulled back.
